| Ruth Dean has a master’s degree from The University of Akron. She taught English composition and coordinated the Writing Center at The University of Akron-Wayne College before joining a management consulting firm as Senior Technical Writer. In 1993 she founded The Writing Toolbox to provide planning, writing, editing and project management services to individuals and businesses. Ruth is the author of The Value of Integrity, a history of an Akron law firm. With Melissa Thomson, she has also written four books on history and social issues. |

Melissa Thomson grew up in Ireland and holds a Ph.D. from Trinity College, Dublin. Her childhood in Ireland sparked an interest in history that she has brought to her career in business writing. She believes that effective business communications project a company’s unique identity, and that by telling a company’s story you get to the heart of what makes it great. |
